Album review!

THE STRAPS.  BRAVE NEW ANGER.

This has to be one of the most honest to goodness Punk Rock albums I've heard in years, right from the opener, "Dead Heros" I knew I was in for a treat. Probably the best line up yet for the Straps. There's no mistaking that these guys are well seasoned and dedicated veterans of many a punk band. The production work curteousy of Pat Collier (Ex Vibrators) is excellent, and apart from a bit of echo and double tracked vocals there's no studio gimmickry here. What I love about BNA is that it takes us right back to where we started on the punk journey. Remember when you put the first Clash album on your record player or the Heartbreakers LAMF! that feeling you had as you listened again and again pouring over the tracks, guitar in hand, trying to pin down a riff, or catch a vocal, well BNA is no different, it stands shoulder to shoulder with all the great punk recordings.
I'm not going to go through a track listing here, but I will say there's fourteen tracks with all the usual punk subject matter, politics, religion, sex etc! and huge portions of intended revolution.
To borrow half a phrase from "apocalypse now" It's fucking Rock n Roll Idolatry
and it's release date is August 8th. Oh! and there's even a love song on there.

VIN SENEB!
